- Supports the assemble or disassemble electrical/mechanical equipment as required for repairs or installations.
- Regularly inspect support equipment and oil, grease, clean, repair with equivalent components when performing preventive maintenance routines.
- Minor equipment and system repairs to preserve their functionality.
- Maintain required maintenance logs on utility equipment, blueprints on other documents used in performing maintenance functions.
- Order spare parts, replacement parts and other materials required.
- Effectively and safely use a wide variety of common hand tools.
- Perform tasks following established safety and maintenance procedures and maintain cleanliness and condition of tools used, shop floor and utility areas.
- Communicate with maintenance/utilities supervisor and/or technical manager about on-going issues and ability to provide recommendations and suggest equipment operational opportunities to aid in root cause analysis.
- Complete all required safety work orders and report back to supervisor upon completion.
- Operate Plant Steam Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Emergency Generators, Process, and Water Systems, Compressed Air, Bio Waste and Industrial Waste, Heating Hot Water Skids, and other equipment in the Utility Room as required. Adjustments to equipment to be performed as per SOPs, utilities operator or supervisor instructions.
- Maintain knowledge of the CMMS electronic work documentation system, BMS System as required for operating equipment. Completes tasks and associated documentation timely ensuring data integrity and following GMP’s and GDP’s.
- Perform assigned PM’s and WO’s on utilities and/or facilities equipment as per the CMMS electronic work order system. Document all work as performed according to cGMP’s and Site SOP’s. Document the use of spare parts in parts in the CMMS by executing desktop requisitions.
- Able to assist PM according to supervisor approval.
- Provide the required notification and document alarms per procedures. Maintain cleanliness of the Utility Room, chiller yard and equipment.
- Maintain 100% training records in Success Factors for all required training.
- Analyze and maintain proper water chemistry on the Boilers, Cooling Towers and Water systems, as applicable.
- Perform all aspects of the position by following cGMP’s and all Safety and OSHA regulations.
- Supports LOTO process as required.
- Provide assistant coverage for shifts as required to support the Utility Room needs, including 24-hour emergency response.
- Monitors overall job environmental, health and safety aspects and understands the risks and liabilities associated with various facilities maintenance and repair activities. Recognize hazard conditions, take appropriate workplace safety measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment to suit work environment.
- Assist in inspecting lift and pump stations for proper functionality; assist in inspecting mechanical and electrical components, pumps and valves. Assist in inspecting and flushes hydrants and tests for proper functionality and water quality, checks chlorine residuals throughout water system.
- Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics, HVAC, or Electricity, preferred with 0-1 years’ experience.
- High School with 2+ years of experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
