SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures.
  2. Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at state and federal levels.
  3. Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).
  4. Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
  5. Competent with programming of VFD’s.
  6. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC’s.
  7. Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
  8. Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  9. Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast-paced.
  10. Able to complete forms e.g. time sheets, works order request forms indicating materials used/required, times, work undertaken etc.
  11. Work overtime when required (including weekends and/or holidays).
  12. Attend emergency calls outside of normal working, if available.
  13. Perform all duties in a safe and proper manner and complying with the EHS policies.
  14. Ensure that all documents are completed complying with the GMP’s practices when required.
  15. Provide cover for other members of staff during holidays, sickness or other absences and in emergencies.
  16. Be proactive with people, keeping them informed; maintain positive relations and demonstrate good customer care.
  17. Execute preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and general repair work on specific assigned working area/site of mechanical, electrical system and equipment.
  18. Perform effectively inspections, testing and emptying secondary containment systems (dams)
  19. Correct deficiencies found in inspections.
  20. Report any spills immediately to your supervisor.
  21. Take reading of the hours of operation of boilers and fuel consumption
  22. Take reading of the hours of operation of generators and fire pumps
  23. Receive diesel for boilers and emergency generators.
  24. Ensure that boilers flow meters are calibrated in the set frequency
  25. Ensure accuracy of generators and fire pumps data taking.
  26. Monitor / document effectively routinely operational parameters to ensure optimum control and regulatory compliance.
  27. Report any deviation
  28. Provide maintenance to critical measurement equipment and tools, reporting failures and repair if necessary.
  29. Analyze fuel and water consumption to detect irregularities and take action if necessary.
  30. Ensure that leak detection system of dikes is operating properly (buoy system)
  31. Identify gaps in the utility systems and take action to repair and put into normal operation
  32. Strictly follow company’s safety and cGMP policies and procedures
  33. Able to work extra hours, at night or on weekends and irregular shifts.
  34. Able to respond to emergency calls.
  35. Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
  36. Electricians should have direct experience with some or all of the following activities:
  • Cable Terminations - 600 volts to 34 KV
  • SF6 Breakers o Installation of Electrical Equipment
  • Open air switches to 138 KV
  • Transformers from 1 MVA to 100 MVA
  • High Voltage CTs and PTs
  • HV switches to 138 KV
  • Switchgear - 480 V, 5 KV, 15 KV
  • Aluminum bus in HV substations480 volt MCCs
  • Grounding systems
  • Cathodic Protection
  • Control Panels
  • Installation of Control wiring and equipment
  • Installation and repair of Insulators
  • Pulling and terminating of conductors and pilot wires
  • Installation of Fiber Optic cable and terminations
  • Installation of conduit and pulling cable - large sizes and from 480 volts to 35 KV
  • Installation of Transmission and Distribution poles
  • Complete installation of HV Electrical Substations to 138 KV
  • Pole Line work - 15 KV to 138 KV

37. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATIONAL or EQUIVALENT REQUIREMENTS:
  • Technical College Electrician Degree
  • ​​​​​​​C-10 Contractor License awarded by the Contractor State License Board
