Microbiology Lab Manager

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the microbiology laboratory staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for microbiological testing.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and guidelines, including FDA, EPA, and ISO.
• Oversee the preparation, analysis, and documentation of microbiological samples.
• Conduct routine and specialized microbiological testing, including microbial identification and enumeration.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and maintenance.
• Monitor laboratory inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to support product development and quality assurance initiatives.
• Prepare and present reports on laboratory findings and activities to senior management.

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques and methodologies.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EPA, ISO).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software.
